GAUTENG – Members of Johannesburg Railway Police apprehended a 32-year-old suspect on Sunday, 27 March 2022 at Park Station for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The SAPS members were reportedly out on a routine crime prevention patrol at Park Station in Johannesburg yesterday. During a stop and search the members recovered an unlicensed firearm and ammunition found in possession of a commuter.
The firearm will be subjected to a ballistic test to determine whether it may be linked to other serious crime committed.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
