Provincial Commissioner’s meet and greet session with the traditional leadership as part of the build-up exercise for the Safer Festive Season launch

POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service in Limpopo led by the top Management will this week, host two major events starting with the official Launch of the Safer Festive Season operations to be held at Giyani Stadium under the Mopani District on Thursday 04 November 2021.The event will be led by the National Commissioner of the South African Police Service General Khehla Sitole accompanied by the MEC for Transport and Community Safety Me Mavungu Lerule-Ramakhanya and the Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe

 

The following day, on 05 November, the Provincial Management will  proceed with the Community Mobilisation Crime Awareness Campaign on Gender Based Violence and Femicide at Mentz sports ground in Mankweng Policing area outside the City of Polokwane under Capricorn District.

 

The Provincial Commissioner saw it fit to visit the Traditional Leadership in this area, especially towards this time of the year when festive season campaigns need more community engagement and mobilising which will assist greatly in the fight against crime.

 

The Provincial Commissioner was accompanied by the Provincial Head of Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit Brigadier Mabasa, the Provincial Commander of Media Relations Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, the District and Station Commanders being Brigadier Mashele, Brigadier Mashaba, Brigadier Serakwana and Brigadier Mabasa.

 

The five(05) Tribal Authorities visited were as follows: Hosi Shitivi, Hosi Homu, Hosi Nhlanike, Hosi Ndengeza and Hosi(Advocate) Mahomane.

 

During the interactions, these Traditional Leadership raised the Policing related concerns and challenges to the Provincial Commissioner who promised to attend to them and where necessary, make the relevant interventions.
