Provincial Commissioner embarks on the second leg of her internal engagements with members

NORTHERN CAPE – The Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola was in Upington today, 07 November 2022 to meet and engage with the members of ZF Mgcawu District.

The visit forms part of her walk-about initiative where she intends meeting with members and the communities across the entire province.

During the session the Provincial Commissioner, accompanied by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Corporate Services, Major General Henriette De Waal and several Provincial Heads, afforded the station commanders and members of the district an opportunity to reflect on challenges they experience when having to deal with the challenges in their various working environments.

This was followed by responses from the Provincial Commissioner and the management who promised the members that they will deal with all the issues and concerns raised.

The session was followed with a virtual meeting during which Lt Gen Otola will address and congratulate the newly promoted senior officers and members across the province. 

She congratulated the members and wished them well in their new roles, while reminding them about the importance of adhering to the policies of the new appointments.

When it comes to working with the communities, she strongly encouraged the station commanders to accommodate members of the community who are willing to assist in the fight against crime.

The Provincial Community Policing Board, under the leadership of Mr Tebogo Molapo as well as the district’s Community Policing Board were also present at the session.

Mr Molapo, also took the opportunity and requested the management to deal with the challenges that were raised by the members.
