NELSPRUIT - The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has thanked members of the community as well as various SAPS Divisions for their assistance in recent cases where suspects were subsequently arrested. This includes a recent murder case of Sergeant Enock Themba Nsimba from Kabokweni wherein a total of 7 suspects were arrested thus far. The murder incident occurred on Friday, 25 March 2022 at Kabokweni outside Mbombela.
The appreciation by the Provincial Commissioner is with regard to the professional manner in which members of the service are conducting themselves after obtaining information on the whereabouts of the suspects, thereby ensuring that the identities of whistleblowers remain incognito (concealed).
Subsequent to that fatal shooting of the Sergeant, a team of experts was assembled, consisting of members of the Tactical Response Team (TRT) from Tshwane and Ekurhuleni respectively as well as members from Mpumalanga Provincial Crime Intelligence and members from Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI). They were tasked to carry out a sting operation in sought of the remaining suspects.
Though some of the suspects are still at large, the Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has emphasised that through the partnership that exist between the SAPS and the communities, all outstanding suspects will soon be brought to book. "Together with our communities, we vow to collaboratively work with diligence and never rest until all who had a hand in the murder of the Sergeant are put behind bars" said the General.
