Provincial Commissioner announces the appointment of two senior managers

NORTHERN CAPE - The Provincial Commissioner, along with the management of the South African Police Service in the Northern Cape, had the privilege of formally announcing the appointment of two senior managers in the province.

The announcement was that of Major General Mmantsheke Lekhele and Brigadier Sipho Kheswa which is effective from 01 February 2023.

Major General Lekhele is the newly appointed Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection in the Northern Cape. Prior to her new appointment in the province, the trail blazing manager was the Provincial Head of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual offences unit in the Free State. She holds B-Tech degrees in Policing and Business Administration and has attended numerous courses presented by SAPS.

Brigadier Kheswa, a seasoned detective in the FCS environment, was also the Acting Provincial Head of the FCS units prior to his appointment. He has a Diploma in Policing and has attended various internal courses within the SAPS environment.

The appointment of these managers comes at a time when the country and the province is grappling with the pandemic of Gender-Based Violence.

Their appointments will bolster the management capacity of the province and provide stability within the organization.

While welcoming the two managers, Lt Gen Otola informed them that "We expect the best from you. You must hit the ground running and do your work with due diligence."
