Today, the National Public Health Agency, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, will provide an update on Sierra Leone’s preparedness in response to recent global developments regarding monkeypox.
Monkeypox, a viral disease primarily found in Central and West Africa, has raised international concerns due to its potential to spread and impact public health. Though the disease has been reported in countries outside these regions, no cases have been detected in Sierra Leone The National Public Health Agency is vigilantly monitoring the situation, both locally and globally, with continuous updates from the WHO and other international health bodies. We are also enhancing surveillance in hospitals and clinics across the country, working closely with healthcare providers to ensure rapid response and public safety.
