Premier Panyaza Lesufi will today, Thursday, 12 January 2023, give an update on the Boksburg gas tanker explosion which took place on 24 December 2022.

The tragic incident left suffering among families and society at large as a result of the loss of life and injuries incurred by many bystanders and healthcare workers, and the extensive damage to private and public infrastructure.

The update will include the current death toll, patients receiving care at Gauteng healthcare facilities, work done by the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development at Tambo Memorial Hospital, and social relief provided by the Gauteng Department of Social Development.
