Premier Mxolisi Dukwana and MEC Thabo Meeko host Allan Gray Entrepreneurship Inter-College Regional Competition, 11 Aug

Accelerating support for Free State TVET students’ entrepreneurs

The Free State Premier Mxolisi Dukwana, and DESTEA MEC Thabo Meeko together with Goldfields, Motheo, and Maluti TVET colleges will host the Allan Gray Entrepreneurship Inter-College Regional Competition on Friday, 11 August 2023 at National Artisan Development Academy in Bloemfontein.

The objective behind this initiative is to provide business students in TVET colleges with a platform to pitch their innovative ideas or existing businesses to a panel of judges and to invite investment into the business.

About 50 participating students will experiment with product development and business-oriented careers as well as receive feedback from the experts facilitating entrepreneurial learning for all participating students. Furthermore, eight winners will scoop financial assistance to accelerate their business ideas or existing businesses to remain sustainable and represent the region at the national level.

The entrepreneurial mindset is a crucial 21st-century attribute because entrepreneurship drives economic growth and creates new jobs; foster and inculcates a culture of entrepreneurship and gives crucial element that contributes immensely to building a strong economy the attention it requires and deserves.
