Premier Kaobitsa Maape pays Barolong Boo Ratshidi Royal Family a courtesy visit, 19 Jan

Family a courtesy visit as part of ongoing efforts by the provincial government to solidify relations with traditional leaders in the province. Since his election, Premier Maape has been crisscrossing the province meeting with various stakeholders as he seeks to improve the quality of services rendered to the people of North West.

The visit is also aimed at paying homage to Barolong and acknowledging their contribution in the struggle against Colonial and Apartheid rule. Mahikeng which is an ancestral land of Barolong is a provincial seat of the North West Government. The town is also an administrative seat of both Mahikeng and Ngaka Modiri Molema Municipalities.

The visit will be preceded by laying of the wreath at the burial site of the first recording secretary of the African National Congress (ANC) George Dick Montshioa. The Premier who will be accompanied by Members of the Executive Council will use the visit to discuss challenges of socio-economic concern bedevilling Mahikeng and surrounding areas.
