Premier Maape to lead World Aids day and the 16 Days of activism against women and children abuse provincial commemoration
North West Premier, Kaobitsa Bushy Maape will lead a contingent of stakeholders to commemorate the World AIDS Day and the 16 Days of Activism Against Women and Child Abuse Provincial event to be held at Klipgat in Bojanala.
The 1st of December has become synonymous with the culmination of the global fight against HIV and AIDS while the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence runs from 25 November to 10 December. This year, both commemorative events will be combined.
The World AIDS Day will be commemorated under the theme: “Working Together to End Inequalities, AIDS, TB and COVID-19”, while the theme for 16 Days of Activism against Women and Children Abuse is “The Year of Charlotte Mannya Maxeke – 16 Days of Activism – moving from awareness to accountability”.
Premier Maape will be accompanied by lead Department MECs Madoda Sambatha of Health and Boitumelo Moiloa for Social Development as well as Mayors, leaders of civil society, Provincial AIDS Council members and other key stakeholders.
