WELKOM - The month of August is marked, Women's Month, members of Partnership Policing under the leadership of Colonel Beulah Siyaya saw it fit to host a Prayer Session for all women in blue of Welkom Police Station.
The event was held at Lewende Water Church Street, Semeeupark on Sunday, 14 August 2022 from 10:00. Women from different departments within Welkom SAPS attended the prayer session.
Colonel Siyaya officially opened the church service with Scripture reading for the congregants. She also prayed for women and social ills such gender-based violence and femicide and Domestic Violence.
Members who were part of the session were Captain Kunini Kganare, Captain Nomathemba Motlomelo, Captain Kenalemang Mphatsoe, Captain Andries Coetzee, Sergeant Motshidisi Mochudi, Me. Betty Vinger, Me. Modiehi van der Merwe, Me. Mpho Kapeng, Me. Dinono Khotle.
Pastor Andre Henderson, the Minister of this congregation Lewende Water also prayed for women in the SAPS and the killing of women in general.
The Prayer session aimed to inspire and encourage women to thrive better in their daily lives.
The gathering was then closed with vote of thanks by Colonel Siyaya who appreciated the presence of women in blue to connect with their Creator, God Almighty in prayer.
