SASELAMANI – The South African Police Service in Saselamani on Friday, 10 December 2021, conducted an awareness campaign in the fight against gender-based violence and femicide at Nhlengani Child Caring Centre in Hlengani Village.
The campaign was led by Social Crime Prevention Coordinator, Sergeant Hlengani Morris Khosa in conjunction with Department of Social Development, Pastors Forum and the local school Principals.
The following topics were addressed during an engagement session with residents and parents:
Education is a basic human right
Breaking the silence on domestic violence
Abuse related offences such as economical, emotional and physical
Sexual related offences including rape and sexual assault
ATM safety tips
Shoplifting
Adherence to Covid-19 regulations
The contact details of station management were given to the community members.
