FREE STATE – The police are requesting information with regard to two incidences which took place on separate farms in Harrismith district in which security guards and pensioner were attacked without injuries but suspects robbed them valuable items.
On 10 January 2022 at about 23:00 the two security guards in their 20’s were surprised by four armed men with firearms, spear and knife. They allegedly broke into store room and stole generator, welding machine, tool box, grinder and grill. They left them unharmed. A case of business robbery is being investigated.
On 11 January 2022 at about 16:15 the 77-year-old woman was on her farm when she heard water running outside the house, she went to inspect and found that it was a geyser and went back into the house inside her bedroom. She came out of the bedroom again and was surprised by a suspect who was in possession of a knife, demanded firearms and cash.
The suspect allegedly robbed her liquor bottles and fled the scene without any harm. She gained entry through the window. A case of house robbery is being investigated.
