Police release identikit of a rape suspect

GQEBERHA – The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in Gqeberha is seeking the assistance from the community in tracing an alleged suspect involved in a rape that was reported on Monday, 19 September 2022.

It is alleged that on abovementioned date at approximately 17:30, the complainant was on her way home when she boarded a taxi in Beach Road in the vicinity of McArthur pools in Summerstrand. While in the taxi, she was blind folded and her cell phone was taken. The taxi later stopped and she was then raped by one of the occupants in the taxi.  She was left on the side of the road and when she felt it was safe she took off the blindfold and noticed she was in Russell Road, Central.  She sought help from the community and a case was reported at SAPS Humewood.
