During the Month of August, the South African Police Service has profiled and celebrated women working in traditionally male dominated environments within the SAPS. These operational environments include the National Intervention Unit (NIU) Tactical Response Team (TRT) Counter Assault Team (CAT) and Flying Squad units as well as Forensic, Crime scene management and Criminology, Explosives, Air-wing divisions of the SAPS.
As the country marks the closure of Womens’ Month, Minister of Police General Bheki Cele will on Tuesday 31 August 2021, address the parade of trailblazing female officers excelling in traditionally male dominated environments within the SAPS
Minister Cele will on this day also walk in the shoes of female officers, as he joins female police officers conducting crime prevention operations.
