WESTERN CAPE – The persistence of police officers in the Western Cape to rid the communities of the possession of drugs and possession of unlicensed and prohibited firearms and ammunition proved to be successful considering the arrests effected starting 01 December 2022 until Thursday 16 February 2023.
Committed police members worked tirelessly to fulfil their mandate in the Western Cape Province, honouring their vow to safeguard the inhabitants of the Republic of South Africa. Under difficult circumstances they persevered and were rewarded for their persistence. A total of 618 cases of possession of unlicensed and/or prohibited firearms and ammunition and 15342 cases of possession of drugs were reported for further investigation for the mentioned period. The investigating officers assigned to investigate the mentioned cases are going the extra mile in a bid to ensure that offenders of these serious crimes are convicted and ultimately sentenced in a court of law.
The management of the police in the Western Cape lauded the police member for going the extra mile in ensuring that unlicensed and prohibited firearms and ammunition and drugs are taken off the streets.
