The South African police in Bolobedu outside Tzaneen under Mopani District engaged the community and several stake holders on an educational outreach programme at Mamaila circuit on Friday 01 October 2021.
The purpose of this initiative was to mobilize stakeholders to support education as part of crime prevention strategies and to sign the pledge to support educational programmes.
National Assembly representative for Basic Education Mr Morwatshehla, the Office of the Provincial Secretariat for Police Mr Mothupi formed part of the entourage along with the station commander Lieutenant Colonel Molokwane, Community Police Forum Chairperson, and the Secretary and station communication Officer Constable Khomotso Roseline Hlokwe.
Different stakeholders pledged and signed against the following issues:
- Learner dropouts
- Learner pregnancy
- Suicidal tendencies by learners
- Bullying by learners on one another
- Vandalism of schools by community members and any other person.
They also pledged to support Grade 12 learners during and beyond the time of examinations by discouraging disruptions which includes playing loud music and uncontrolled liquor outlets, to ensure that a conducive environment for teaching and learning is enhanced so that Mamaila Circuit produces good results across all the Grades.
