Police in East London are searching for two suspects who allegedly robbed a retail store at Vincent Park on 29 September 2021.
It is alleged that at approximately 17:50 a cashier at the tills in the store was approached by two unknown males. She was pointed with a firearm and instructed to open three tills. The suspects then proceeded to take an undisclosed amount of money from the tills. While the complainant was opening the tills another three male suspects entered the shop and proceeded towards the section where the perfumes were on display. They smashed the display cabinets and removed the items.
There was an exchange of fire between a witness who was busy installing air conditioners at the centre and the fleeing suspects. One suspect stumbled and dropped what he was carrying. No one sustained any injuries.
It is alleged that the suspects fled in two VW Polo vehicles.
A case of business robbery and attempted murder is under investigation. No suspects arrested at this stage.
