Police in Mecklenburg seek assistance in tracing a 34-year-old male believed to be of assistance in solving a case of murder

The police at Mecklenburg, Sekhukhune District are appealing to a 34-year-old man named, Suprice Mohlala, to avail himself to the nearest police station as they believe his presence may help in resolving a case of murder.

The Magobading village Headman, Mr Setlamorago Thobejane, aged 60, was shot and killed at his home village under Mecklenburg policing area on Wednesday 07 August 2024 at about 06:00.

According to the information, the victim and his daughter were walking to work and school respectively when the suspects, driving a maroon Toyota Camry motor vehicle without registration numbers, allegedly approached them and fired several shots, fatally wounding the local headman and fled the scene.

He was taken to the nearest hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Following the incident, three male suspects, linked to the murder, were arrested however, the fourth suspect is still on the run. The police are appealing to Suprise Mohlala, whom is believed can assist in the investigation and resolving o
f the gruesome killing of the headman, to avail himself.
