Police in Gauteng continues to clamp down on crime as they recover unlicensed firearms, ammunition and drugs in two separate operations in Tshwane

PARKTOWN - Police in Gauteng continues to address the proliferation of drugs and unlicensed firearms in circulation.

Members of SAPS Ga-Rankuwa arrested two suspects today for possession of unlicensed firearm, ammunition, drugs and dagga.

According to a preliminary report, information on the two men was obtained and operationalised. A team of SAPS members proceeded to the identified address of the suspects whereby an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, packets containing Cat and dagga were recovered.

In addition, members of SAPS Akasia arrested three suspects, aged between 25 and 36, on Friday, 17 March 2022 for possession of drugs.

An intelligence-driven operation was executed based on information the SAPS members obtained. A search led the members to recover different types of drugs and cash which is believed to be the proceeds of drug deals.
