Two suspects are expected to appear in court for the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition and dealing in drugs in isolated incidents on Wednesday 04 September 2024. Steenberg Crime Prevention unit were busy with crime combatting duties near Military and Grindal Avenue at around 16:50 when they heard the sound of gun fire. The members responded and saw an un identified man running with a firearm in his hand. The members gave chase and apprehended suspect who was found in possession of a pistol with ammunition. The 26 year old man faces charges for the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. Meanwhile Delft Crime Prevention unit conducted stop and search operations in Eindhoven when they noticed a suspicious Toyota Corolla approaching them. They stopped the vehicle and searched the driver who was found in possession of 100 mandrax tablets and cash wrapped in a plastic bag. They arrested the man on a charge of dealing in drugs. Once charged the suspects are expected to make their respecti ve court appearances in the Wynberg and Bellville Magistrates' courts on the mentioned charges. Source: South African Police Service
