Police arrest suspects in possession of drugs and an undisclosed amount of cash

The swift response of police officers led to the arrest of suspects in possession of drugs in two separate incidents on Thursday, 16 September 2021.

 

Members of the Overberg Rural Flying Squad were busy with routine patrols near to Papiesvlei Road, Napier, when their attention was drawn to a suspicious Nissan Navara. The members stopped the vehicle and confiscated a bag with methamphetamine with an estimated street value of R 250 000-00 and an undisclosed amount of cash. Four males aged between 29 and 36 were arrested and detained.

 

In an unrelated matter, members of the Anti-Gang unit pursued information indicating drug dealing at an identified address in Blikiesdorp informal settlement in Delft. The members strategized and proceeded to the address. Upon arrival they searched the premises and confiscated a huge consignment of mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash. A 35-year-old man was arrested and detained.

 

Once charged the suspects are expected to make a court appearance in the Bredasdorp and Bellville  Magistrate court respectively  on charges of dealing in drugs.
