Police arrest four suspects, recover hijacked vehicle and seized two firearms in Daveyton

PARKTOWN – Members of SAPS Highway Patrol Unit, Johannesburg Flying Squad, EMPD, JMPD K9 on Saturday, 31 July 2021 at about 14:00, followed up information of a hijacked vehicle. Upon the arrival at the address four suspects aged between 31 and 41 were found in the house. All the suspects were arrested, during the arrest two unlicensed firearms were seized and the hijacked Polo Vivo was recovered in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni.

 

Members were notified about the vehicle that was hijacked on Wednesday 28 July 2021 and that the vehicle was also used in a house robbery on 29 July 2021 in Daveyton.  The team of law enforcement agencies followed the information and raided the house where four suspects were arrested.

 

Upon searching the suspects and the car, police recovered two unlicensed firearms which will be taken for ballistic test to establish whether or not they were used in the commission of other crimes.

 

The suspects will be charged with hijacking, house robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. The suspect will further be profiled to determine if they are not linked to other crimes, especially the hijacking and serious and violent crimes.
