Police are looking for a suspect alleged to have stolen money from employer

NELSPRUIT - Police in Tonga are looking for a female suspect believed to be in her twenties in connection with theft of money at Maqhawe Combined School in the area.

According to the information, it was discovered on Friday 24 June 2022, the alleged suspect, who was employed as an Administration Clerk at the said school, made off with an undisclosed amount of money which was collected from learners for an educational trip. She was apparently tasked with collecting money from the learners.

On the day the learners were left stranded after she (suspect) failed to show up. They tried to contact her but were unsuccessful as her phone was switched off. A search conducted to locate her was also unsuccessful as it was revealed by her landlord that she had also moved out of her rented house.

Police have registered a case of theft and request anyone with information that will assist in the case to contact Detective Warrant Officer James Khoza on 079 364 3533 or call the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111. Alternatively, members of the public can send information via MySAPS App. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
