Pretoria: Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. David Masondo, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) Board, has pushed back against online allegations made against Thabi Nkosi concerning her appointment to the board. According to South African Government News Agency, Dr. Masondo emphasized that Ms. Nkosi's position on the board is a result of her qualifications, experience, and demonstrated record of leadership. He expressed disappointment over what he described as misogynistic allegations aimed at diminishing Nkosi's achievements by attributing them to personal relationships rather than merit. Masondo assured that Nkosi continues to have the "full confidence" of the board despite these allegations. He criticized the sexist and misogynistic attacks as unfair and as undermining efforts to ensure that capable women can lead and serve without being subjected to degrading speculation. The statement concluded by reaffirming that Ms. Nkosi enjoys the full confidence and support of the Board, rejecting the allegations against her. Dr. Masondo emphasized that the Board remains committed to its fiduciary responsibilities and its mandate to safeguard and grow the assets entrusted to it on behalf of workers, beneficiaries, and pensioners.
