On Saturday morning, 19 February 2022 members of SAPS Reigerpark arrested two suspects, aged 18 and 20-years-old, for unlawful possession of unlicensed firearms.
A preliminary report suggests community patrollers were out on a patrol when they detected a suspicious looking man in the area. The community patrollers immediately alerted the police who swiftly responded to the information.
A search was conducted which resulted in the members recovering an unlicensed firearm. Further investigation led the members to a house where another unlicensed firearm was recovered.
