The resurfacing of Amandel Road involves a section of approximately 316 metres of roadway: 160m at the intersection with Radnor Street and 156m off Robert Sobukwe Drive. The work along Amandel Road will be implemented from the end of Robert Sobukwe Drive toward the railway line in a northern direction and between the filling station and the shopping centre and Malawi Kamp on Robert Sobukhwe Road. The works will include pothole repairs and the reinstatement of road surfaces following water reinstatements.

The work is scheduled for completion by February 2022, pending unforeseen delays and inclement weather.

Works are scheduled from Monday to Friday, however, should it be necessary, the works will also be done on non-working days.

The works entail:

road infrastructure maintenance where the road is breaking up, road failure occurs and the road user safety is compromised

potholes patch repairs

water reinstatements

The existing road surface will be removed, milled, and replaced with new asphalt, including the reinstatement of road-marking as to prior construction.

The works will mainly focus on resealing of the road surface using material recovered from the work at the intersection of Radnor Street and Amandel Road. Other work involves repairs to pothole patches and water reinstatements.
