Parliament’s presiding officers host SONA 2022 media briefing

The Presiding Officers, led by the National Assembly Speaker Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula and the National Council of Provinces Chairperson Mr Amos Masondo, will tomorrow (8 February 2022) hold a hybrid media briefing on preparations to host the 2022 State of the Nation Address (SONA), scheduled for 10 February.

Venue: Imbizo Centre, Ground Floor, 120 Building, Parliament.

Members of the media who would like to be part of the Media Briefing must send their details (names, ID numbers and name of the media house they represent) to Mlindi Mpindi at: mmpindi@parliament.gov.za(link sends e-mail) or via WhatsApp on 081 716 7329 before 18:00 on today (7 February 2022).

For interaction during the briefing, members of the media may pose their questions using the Parliamentary Communication Services’ WhatsApp Group. Journalists who are not part of the WhatsApp Group may forward their cellphone numbers to Mlindi Mpindi on email mmpindi@parliament.gov.za(link sends e-mail) for inclusion in the group, where login details for the Media Briefing will be shared. Journalists are urged to forward the requests using their official email addresses (no private emails).

Members of the media are advised to arrive on time in Parliament to allow for the screening process, which will done at the 100 Plein entrance.
