GAUTENG – Meo Mochadibane (30) and Matome Sefalafala (32) appeared in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Friday after they were served with court summons for theft of over R290 000-00 under false pretences.
The Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation caught up with the pair after it emerged that they allegedly sold a truck that was still under bank finance to an unsuspecting victim during October 2017.
Following fruitless attempts to get the truck’s papers for change of ownership, the victim enquired about the status of the vehicle at the Licencing Department. This is where it was established that the truck was still under the bank ownership. The pair was granted R10 000-00 bail each pending their next court appearance on 06 September 2022.
