Oshakati – The Oshana Regional Women’s League, sponsored by the Namibian Football Association (NFA) with support from FIFA, is set to continue its season with matches this weekend at the Oshakati Independence Stadium and Valombola Vocational Training College’s sports grounds in Ongwediva.
According to Namibian Press Agency (NAMPA), the league’s public relations officer speaking to Nampa, the league features eight teams, including Hope FC, Oshakati Super Stars FC, Teenager Queens FC, Mighty Angels, Oshana NamPol Women FC, Bakpro Oshana Millennial Queens FC, Onelago Beauties FC, and Vicky Andimba FC. Key matchups include Bakpro Oshana Millennial Queens FC versus Hope FC and Queens FC against Mighty Angels. Sunday’s fixtures at VVCT will see teams like Mighty Angels and Oshana NamPol Women FC competing. Da Silva emphasized the league’s aim to promote women’s football, offering players the chance to advance their careers and promoting a healthy lifestyle. The league champions will advance to the playoffs with aspirations to qualify for the national NFA Women’s Super League. Da Silva also highlighted the need for additional sponsorship to support the development of women’s football in the region.
