Ondangwa – The Oshana Regional Council is set to host its first-ever street market from December 7 to 9, 2023, at the Eheke settlement in the Ondangwa Rural Constituency. Elly Ashikoto, a spokesperson for the Council, informed Nampa that the Oshana Street Market Day is designed to bolster socio-economic development and celebrate entrepreneurship.
According to Namibian Press Agency (NAMPA), Visitors to the market can anticipate a vibrant showcase of local products and services, including artisan crafts, culinary offerings, and various unique inventions by the region’s talent. Ashikoto added that the market will also provide a platform for public entities to interact with the community, offering insights into essential services such as healthcare, education, employment, and social welfare. This interaction aims to educate attendees about resources available to them and foster a deeper understanding of public services.
