Several multi-disciplinary crime prevention operations yield positive results in the Joe Gqabi District over the weekend.
The acting District Commissioner Brig Rudolph Adolph joined the members in Sterkspruit for operation “Save a Life” from 8 January 2022 at 14:00 up until 9 January 2022 at 02:00. SAPS members including K9 and OCC were also joined by the Provincial traffic.
The operational activities included the stop and search of vehicles and passengers and high Visibility patrols, compliance inspection to Liquor outlets and Road traffic safety.
The focus areas included:
Zastrone road
Sterkspruit town and surrounding villages.
During a vehicle check point at Mokhesi members managed to recover a 9mm fire-arm and magazine with 15 live rounds of ammunition.
Road traffic fines were also issued to the value of R5600-00.
A 25-year-old suspect was also arrested for possession of drugs.
Lady Grey and Rhodes had similar operations.
At Lady Grey 43 vehicles were searched and 39 people. People were also moniterd for compliance to the DMA.
At KAT KOP during their operations members of visible policing were informed by the community that they spotted 10 cattle grazing between homesteads that were unknown to them, the stock were confiscated.
