Operation Basadi” gaining momentum across the province

WATERBERG - The members of the SAPS in Limpopo continue to work around the clock to conduct operations in all the four Districts in support of "Operation Basadi "which is making tremendous impact.

On Tuesday, 16 August 2022 the Station Commander of Lephalale SAPS, Colonel Ramakgoakgoa joined by other senior police officers led the operation that was conducted in the Lephalale policing precinct under Waterberg District, comprising of SAPS members from various police units joined by other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders.

A total of nine undocumented persons were arrested and one for non- compliance on the liquor Act and 27 for contravening the Road Traffic Act.

The operation included stop and searches at various places such as shopping centres and townships, roadblocks as well as tracing of wanted suspects. A zero tolerance approach was also followed against non-compliance on Liquor Act , substance abuse and gender-based violence.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe extended her appreciation to the members for their commitment and vigilance displayed during the operations and urged members to perform their duties with diligence to ensure the safety of all the citizens in this province.
