A 40-year-old man was arrested after he reportedly attempted to rape his 79-year-old mother at Okomakwiya village in the Onesi Constituency of the Omusati region.
Omusati Crime Investigation Coordinator Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho, said the incident occurred around 18h55 on Friday when the suspect who is the biological son of the victim pushed the mother down. ‘He then grabbed her on the leg and started undressing her and also himself with the intention to have sex with her,’ he said.
Simaho further alleged that the suspect told his mother that he could hear his inner voice telling him to have sex with his mother.
In an unrelated matter, a 26-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed to death 25-year-old Saratial Gideon Itango at Eengonyo location in Okatsaidhi village of Tsandi Constituency.
The incident occurred around 19h30 on Saturday.
According to Simaho, it is alleged that the suspect and the deceased were in the same shebeen, when they started pushing each other. The suspect then i
n the process used an unknown object to stab the deceased once on the back while he was on his way going outside and he died on the spot.
The suspect has been arrested on a murder charge.
Police investigations into both matters continue.
