The City of Cape Town’s Ombudsman Office has resumed its walk-in services offered at the Cape Town Civic Centre. It is important that our services are accessible, especially to the most vulnerable residents.

‘With the reopening of our walk-in service, the City’s Ombud services are once again even more accessible to Cape Town residents. The Ombud services were continued remotely via online and telephone channels while the national Covid-19 hard lockdown regulations were in effect. During this time, as a means to bring services closer to Cape Town residents despite the trying conditions, an SMS channel was launched.

‘Residents are now able to send a message to 44781 (standard rates apply) to lodge a complaint or for more information on how to lodge a complaint.

‘It is important that our services are accessible, especially to the most vulnerable residents. We have to offer services in the ways and channels that our residents find most useful. For some, that means sending an SMS and for others, visiting our conveniently-located counter,’ said the City’s Ombudsman, Vusumzi Magwebu.
