DOUGLAS – A 29-year-old man is behind bars, following the rape of an 8-year-old girl.

It is alleged that the victim together with her peers were playing nearby a dumping site in Breipal, Douglas on Tuesday, 21 September 2021 when the suspect chased, grabbed and raped her. The victim’s friends managed to run away and report the incident to the parents. The suspect was subsequently traced and apprehended.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Douglas Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of rape. Investigation continues.
