BLOEMFONTEIN – A case of murder was registered by Odendaalsrus SAPS after a 15-year-old boy was fatally stabbed following an argument over a game.
It is alleged that Lebohang Malgas (15) and another 12-year-old boy were playing a gambling game on the street at Blok 7 Kutlwanong, Odendaalsrus on Friday, 25 June 2021 at about 19:30. It is reported that the two later engaged in a heated argument and the 12-year-old went home. On his return he allegedly pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed Lebohang in the chest. The victim fell to the ground and was declared dead at the scene.
The deceased is a Grade 9 learner whilst the 12-year-old minor suspect is in Grade 6 at separate schools in Kutlwanong.
The minor suspect was arrested and charged with murder, but was released under the custody of his guardian pending his court appearance at Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 28 June 2021.
