North West Legislature meets with Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs over interventions at Ditsobotla, Mamusa and Tswaing Municipalities

North West Legislature Committee on Cooperative Governance to Meet Department over Interventions at Ditsobotla, Mamusa and Tswaing Municipalities

On Wednesday, 09 February 2022, the North West Provincial Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Premier, Finance, Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs will hold an oversight meeting with the Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs to account on its departmental interventions at Ditsobotla, Mamusa and Tswaing local municipalities. The meeting will be held at 08h00.

The department was asked to account on the following issues;

  • Governance status and appointment of senior managers and expulsion and assault on staff of the Auditor General’s office at Ditsobotla local municipality on 27 January 2022.
  • Compliance with the Provisions of Municipal Structures Act, Municipal Systems Act  and Municipal Financial Management Act (Chapter 10) at Mamusa local municipality.
  • To account on the closeout report on Section 139(1)(b) at Tswaing Local Municipality.

Mayors, Speakers, Councillors and senior management will also be present at the meeting to account on issues pertaining to their respective municipalities.
