North West Government to Enhance Local Services with Thuntsha Lerole Reloaded Programme

North west: The North West Provincial Government will provide essential services to residents of several municipalities on Friday, 18 October 2024, as part of its Accelerated Service Delivery Programme, Thuntsha Lerole Reloaded. This initiative aims to reach communities within the Moses Kotane Local Municipality and Bojanala Platinum District Municipality, enhancing local infrastructure and services. According to South African Government News Agency, the service delivery drive will be spearheaded by Premier Lazarus Mokgosi, accompanied by multiple MECs, local and district municipalities' Executive Mayors, and leaders from local traditional and Khoi-San communities. The day's activities will include significant contributions to education, healthcare, agriculture, and local industry standards. At Okomelang Primary School in Sandfontein, near Mogwase, the program will distribute school furniture, including 160 chairs and 80 tables, with additional furnishings for teachers. Furthermore, the event will support l ocal non-profits, with three organizations receiving dummy cheques each worth over R500,000, enhancing their capability to serve the community effectively. In an effort to support local enterprises and ensure quality standards, the Rooikraal brick-making company will receive a SABS compliance voucher. This forms part of an initiative to foster small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) development and adherence to industry standards. The agricultural sector will also benefit, with two local female farmers receiving bulls to aid their farming activities. Additional support includes the distribution of sunflower seeds and diesel to a crop farmer in Legogelo village and garden tools and vegetable seedlings to Modderkuil Clinic and Lesedi Modderkuil Edu Care. The housing sector will see direct benefits as well, with three RDP houses being allocated to beneficiaries in Mabele-a-pudi village and 10 title deeds distributed in Madikwe. Other ongoing public services under the Thuntsha Lerole Reloaded programme in clude local tuck shop and tavern inspections, road maintenance, consumer education, and health screenings. The programme will continue its outreach in other district municipalities in the coming weeks, aiming to enhance the overall quality of life for residents across the North West province.
