The City of Cape Town’s Transport Directorate is set to commence with the resurfacing of various roads in Dunoon from 27 September 2021 and the work will be implemented over a period of 20 days, pending inclement weather and unforeseen delays.

The work forms part of general maintenance work and will take place between 08:00 and 17:00 on week days.

Work will be implemented on the following roads and streets:

Bulelani Street

Denneboom Avenue

Dumani Road

Ngena Street

Nkunkwana Road

Nomzamo Road

Siyabonga Street

Thandabantu Road

Usasaza Street

Traffic moving in both directions will be affected and flag personnel will regulate traffic in one direction at a time, through a stop-and-go system.

Residents and motorists are advised to note that:

Work areas will be demarcated to regulate traffic flow as well as pedestrians

Vehicles may be parked in driveways as usual, if and when access is available

Vehicles should not be parked on the roadway, obstructing the maintenance work.

‘This project is in keeping with our commitment to delivering basic services that will improve the lives of our residents. When completed, these roads will give residents a different experience – not only will they be aesthetically pleasing, but it will also be safer to use them. Although we do not anticipate any congestion during the construction period, I want to ask road users to consider alternative routes to avoid unnecessary delays. This way we will keep moving to more durable and safer roads,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Transport, Councillor Rob Quintas.
