GQEBERHA – Diligent investigations by SAPS Kamesh detectives led to the speedy apprehension of two suspects allegedly involved in the brutal murder of a 15-year-old scholar.

It is alleged that Ferguson Volminck was walking in McCarthy Street, at about 07:45 yesterday morning, 31 August 2022, towards the school when a group approached him and he was stabbed with a knife in the chest. Volminck’s father was informed about the incident and rushed his son to a local hospital for medical treatment, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives worked around the clock to trace the suspects and at 17:50 last night, two males aged 16 and 21 were arrested at their respective residences. The motive for the murder is yet to be established.

The arrested suspects are expected to appear in the Kariega Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, Friday, 02 September 2022 on a charge of murder. Investigations are continuing.
