Mounted unit arrest suspect with dagga and drugs

Members of the Mounted Unit contribute daily to the crime prevention endeavours by patrolling with their horses.

Yesterday, 8 February 2022 they were patrolling Boyce Nondala Township when they received positive information.

The information was followed up and the suspect was spotted walking in the area.

He was searched and arrested by the members that found 172 straws of tik, 12 sachets dagga and 6 dagga zolls in his possession to the value of R5200-00.

The 23-year-old suspect will appear in the Barkly East magistrate court on the 10 February 2022.

The acting District Commissioner Brig Rudolph Adolph commended the members on the successful arrest.

The members’ presence during patrols always leave a positive impact with the community. The community took the opportunity to share the information that made the success possible.
