Motorist arrested for dealing in drugs in Johannesburg M1 South

Somalian National, Mohamed Deeq Abdulahi Aadam (39) was arrested on Monday, 21 October 2024, during an intelligence driven drug dealing operation in accordance with the Drug and Drugs Trafficking Act 140/1992.

A collaboration between the Free State and Gauteng Crime Intelligence culminated in an operation by the Johannesburg based Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team at the BP garage Oasis M1 at around 16:00. A red Hyundai Elantra was identified and searched with the driver’s consent. The search resulted in the seizure of approximately 100kg of KHAT, valued at R350,000.00, contained in 14 boxes.

Mohamed Deeq Abdulahi Aadam was consequently detained. He has appeared in the Booysens Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 23 October 2024. The case was postponed to 25 October 2024 for further investigation.
