The Mopani District Commissioner, Major General Maggy Mathebula was accompanied by the District’s Vispol Commander, Brigadier Mashile and the Community Policing Forum (CPF), Chairperson Mr Uwe Kroh during a visit in Phalaborwa policing area on Tuesday 21 September 2021.
The visit was aimed at handing over trophies to the two learners who were crowned Junior District Commissioner and Junior Head of MIC respectively during the Junior Management project which was held in May 2021 at Tzaneen JOC.
Major General Mathebula commenced at Frans Du Toit High school in Zone 3 where she was joined by the Phalaborwa Station Commander, Colonel Rakhadani, social crime prevention coordinators, Sergeant Nkwinika and Makhubele including the Communition Officer, Sergeant Mongwe.
She presented a trophy to the Junior Vispol Commander Peter Oosthuizen, a Grade 9 learner who was encouraged to champion the school safety and always strive to inspire other learners in the journey towards a crime free society.
Afterwards, the entourage proceeded to Vuxeni High school in Namakgale policing precinct and welcomed by the Station Commander, Colonel Bila supported by Communication Officer, Sergeant Selepe and CPF members.
Another trophy was presented to Junior Head of MIC, Owami Lenyalo also a Grade 9 learner. Major General Mathebula advised the learners to maintain good conduct and always be in the forefront in terms of discipline and good behavior.
In addition, she pleaded for good partnership in order to tackle and uproot any form of criminal activities at schools and in the society at large.
The Management of the schools were applauded for the good work in giving learners an opportunity to participate in educational programs that are aimed to empower them in the learning environment.
