Human Settlements Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi, will from Monday 11 October 2021 and Tuesday, 12 October 2021, visit various projects in Mpumalanga and officially hand over allocated housing to beneficiaries.
The site visits in eMalahleni, Steve Tshwete and the City of Mbombela Local Municipalities, respectively, are part of the Ministerial visits to provinces to assess and improve performance in housing delivery.
Accompanied by the MEC of Human Settlements, Speed Mashilo and Local Executive Mayor(s), Minister Kubayi will hand-over a housing project at Duvha Park Ext 1, targeted to deliver 500 units, symbolically switch on electricity connections to a new settlements at Kriel, and visit ongoing projects in Siyanqoba, Newtown, and Rondebosch.
The programme will conclude in the City of Mbombela on Tuesday, where they will visit storm affected houses in KaNyamazane and surroundings, the Integrated Rural Development Program (IRDP) in Tekwane South, before officially handing over 15 Military Veterans’ houses in the area.
As part of government’s drive to find lasting solutions to human settlements challenges, including reducing the backlog in the delivery of houses, the Minister has visited six provinces, namely; KwaZulu-Natal Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Free State, Northern Cape and Limpopo.
