Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi assesses status of Eastern Cape housing projects, 9 to 10 Sept

In her quest to accelerate housing delivering and restoring the dignity of the indigent through human settlements, Ms Mmamoloko Kubayi, will spend two days in the Eastern Cape assessing the delivery of sustainable human settlements.

 

The Minister has already visited KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng where she received status reports on housing projects being implemented and challenges that required her interventions.

 

These Ministerial visits to are aimed at ensuring that provinces deliver on their set targets for 2021/2022. Notwithstanding challenges currently faced by the Eastern Cape, the Province has shown some remarkable improvements in the delivery of houses. In the frst quarter of 2021/2022 the Eastern Cape was one of the top performing Provinces in the country with over 3000 delivered from April to June 2021.

 

Minister Kubayi together with Deputy Minister Pam Tshwete and the Eastern Cape MEC for Human Settlements, Ms Nonceba Kontsiwe will on the first day in the Province visit Duncan Village Redevelopment Initiative (DVRI), amongst other projects located within the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality.
