Minister Mchunu to give update on the state of water and sanitation to mark one year in office

Members of the media are invited to a media briefing to be led by Minister of Water and Sanitation, Mr Senzo Mchunu on the state of water and sanitation to mark one year since he took over the portfolio.

Minister Mchunu assumed the responsibility of leading one of the critical departments in the country in August 2022 and rolled up his sleeves to stabilise the department in efforts to ensure access to clean water and dignified sanitation for all.

Upon his appointment, Minister Mchunu hit the ground running and visited all the provinces to unlock challenges that hinder water provision, particularly the delays in infrastructure projects. He has amongst others, prioritised the Giyani Water Project, Nelson Mandela Bay drought relief measures, stabilised the department in the filling of critical posts and continues to fight fraud and corruption.
