Minister Angie Motshekga to visit schools in Volksrust and engage communities on second chance and ECD programmes

The Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga will visit schools in Volksrust in Mpumalanga to conduct monitoring and oversight and engage with communities of the Second Chance Matric Support Programme (Second Chance) and Early Childhood Development Programme (ECD). The schools to be visited on Thursday, 10 February 2022 are Phembindlela Primary School and Elangwane Secondary School in Vukuzakhe, Volksrust.

 

These visits provide an opportunity to further support schools while strengthening efforts to mitigate risks within school communities as schools have now welcomed back all the learners after the cabinet scrapped the rotational class attendance and 1.5m social distance in classrooms.

 

The minister will later in the day engage with the communities on Second Chance and the Early Childhood Development programmes as well as Read to Lead.
