Minister Angie Motshekga supports Vooma Vaccination Weekend in Sedibeng District, 3 Dec

The Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga will be joined by the municipal leadership to support the Vooma Vaccination Weekend Drive in the Sedibeng District Municipality starting on Friday 03 December to Sunday 05 December 2021. The Vooma activations will take place at a number of Vaccination Sites in Emfuleni Local Municipality including surrounding schools.

The President has called on all leaders across South Africa to intensify their support for the Covid-19 vaccination programme and mobilise their sectors, communities to take up Covid-19 vaccines to save lives. The 3rd Vooma Vaccination Week communication campaign will run from 3 – 10 December 2021.

Members of the public are encouraged to visit Vaccinations Sites in Sedibeng District which includes the following schools Tshepo Themba Secondary School, Moshate Secondary School, Mahareng Secondary School and Suncrest Secondary School due to low population vaccination figures in the district. There are 10 more Vooma Pop-up vaccination sites in and around the Sedibeng district where members of the community can go to for jabs.

The Department of Basic Education will also have an Exhibition on site to showcase and share information about the various programmes of the DBE including Read to Lead, Funza Lushaka and Second Chance Matric Support Programme.
