As the South African Police Service (SAPS) intensifies its investigation into the fatal shooting of a German tourist near White River in Mpumalanga, Police Minister, General Bheki Cele and National Commissioner of the SAPS General Fannie Masemola will on Wednesday, 05 October 2022, visit the province.
According to police report, four German tourists were traveling on Numbi Road en route to Numbi Gate at Mdluli Safari lodge, when they were stopped by three armed suspects who instructed the tourists to open the doors of their vehicle. It is when the driver reportedly locked all the doors that one of the suspects allegedly shot him on the upper body through the window. The driver died on the scene before the suspects sped off in their vehicle.
The visit to the province will include a site visit to the crime scene which will take place as follows.
